Facebook faces record fine for data misuse

 Face book, fine, date misuse

London : The UK's data protection watchdog plans to fine Facebook 500,000 pounds over the Cambridge Analytica Scandal. According to BBC report, It would be its biggest ever penalty. The social network is yet to decide if it will try to reduce the sum.

The regulator also said that it intended to bring a criminal action against Cambridge Analytica's defunct parents company SCL elections.

Before their collapse, Cambridge Analytica insisted it had wiped the data after Facebook's erasure request in December 2015. But the Information Commissioner's office said that it had seen evidence that copies of the data has been shared with others.
